There is no official TWRP just yet at the time being. Luckily, the rapid development pace of third-party communities helps Xiaomi users to enjoy unofficial recoveries earlier.
Xiaomi Mi 9T is one of the Android phones lucky enough to receive unofficial TWRP. The phone which is in Asian countries known as Redmi K20 is this year’s most wanted phone.
Some points you need to remember:
- This TWRP is for Redmi K20/Mi 9T. Do not flash it on Redmi K20 Pro (Mi 9T Pro).
- Unlocked bootloader is necessary as always.
- You don’t need to previously have any other TWRP build installed. You can simply flash it through Fastboot to replace the Mi Stock Recovery.
- You don’t have to use the auto-installer script included within. It is made to help the job done easier.

A notification will pop up on your screen. Tap the “OK” button.

Step 7. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously until you enter Fastboot mode. You will see your phone rebooting and you will also see the Mi Bunny Fastboot logo displayed.

Step 9. In Windows Explorer, go to the folder of where you’ve extracted the TWRP zip file above.
Step 10. Double-click the Flash_TWRP.bat file.
Step 11. Press any key on your keyboard to start flashing.
